Welcome
The Catholic Foundation was founded by Bishop James Griffin in 1985. It exists to provide permanent funding for the parishes, schools and ministries of the 23-county Diocese of Columbus. In a world of uncertainty, are the surest way to provide for the continued health of the ministries we value. The Foundation supports its mission through work in three key areas.
Grant Applicants
The Foundation administers two different sets of grants, one to parishes of the diocese, and the other to parishes,Catholic schools and select social service agencies. All Forms are mailed to the appropriate applicant and are made available on the website.
Individual Donors
The Foundation works with donors from all walks of life who want to make a lasting difference. Many faithful Catholics are pleasantly surprised when they learn what an impact they can make through planned giving. There are many options for helping your parish, school or ministry. We can help you evaluate the various ways to give.
Have the current rates gotten you down? A Charitable Gift Annuity is one secure way to donate, and it pays you back. For more information on the benefits of a CGA, contact Scott Hartman, Development Director, or click here.
Parishes and Schools
The Foundation offers numerous resources to parishes and schools interested in starting or growing their own endowment.

"I think there's a misconception that only the very wealthy are able or should consider an endowment. Really anyone that's been blessed and is a part of our Catholic family in the Diocese can get involved with the foundation for the benefit of their parish or parish school or ministry."
